Workbench
WORK IN PROGRESS
This page is currently being worked on by our editors. However, in its current state, it is highly incomplete and may not contain any of the information you are looking for. Additionally, continue with care, as it may contain outdated, if not outright incorrect information.
The Workbench is a large table which spawns inside the Alpha Root Base's garage upon loading a new file. The player may also buy another from the Store, under the Tools section, should they so desire. Another Workbench can be found nearby at the central Power Station, and one each at the Green Hatch and Transformer 2. As it is considered a heavy object, it cannot be held in the player's hands or placed in their inventory once placed into the world.
Appearance
Workbenches are large tables made up of a neutral wood work surface, red painted metal body, and black painted metal shelving drawers and detailing. The wood is damaged even on arrival, and the paint is in various states of chipping. There are low-resolution papers of various types on the work surface's lower-right corner.
Usage
To use the workbench, the player physically sets props and items on or above the surface of the workbench. If a viable combination of objects is placed on the work surface, a Use option will appear around the items to combine the appropriate ingredients into a crafted object. When looking at the workbench, a red box is displayed around the acceptable area items should be placed.
Crafting Recipes
Scraps
Scraps are intermediate crafting ingredients made by combining multiple trash pieces or items of similar material. They are primarily used in other recipes, or as materials for the Wall Builder. A notebook detailing some trash items that can be compressed into scrap spawns next to the Garage Workbench. Trash pieces can be found nearly everywhere around the Base, Transformers, and scattered around most points of interest, or harvested from a Garbage pile using the Shovel. Scraps do not require any blueprints.
(Each ingredients box represents a separate possible recipe.)

Blueprints
These items require their reusable Blueprint, found in a specific location around the map, to be placed on the workbench with the ingredients.
Trivia
- The Workbench used to have storage that was easily accessible, though the ease of access was seemingly scrapped in a build of 0.6.3
- However, its inventory is still accessible through the use of the TV Remote. It holds 200.0 volume worth of storage. Planned to be patched in 8.1 with the rest of the TV Remote shenanigans.
